Introducing Members

Introducing Members

Facilitator introduction (3 minutes)

  • Explain your role to the members.
  • Sharing a bit about your own experience with stroke and peer support helps members feel safe and connected.
  • This introduction might only be needed at the first meeting or when new members join.

Member introductions (1-2 minutes per person)

  • Introductions help members get to know each other, build trust, and feel comfortable.
  • Invite members to introduce themselves and talk a bit about who they are. They don’t have to share details about their stroke if they don’t want to.
  • Add fun questions, like asking about their favorite movie or hobby.
  • New members might feel nervous. Allow them to take part at their own pace and check in with them after the meeting.
