3. Find An Organizational Partner

Step Three | Find An Organizational Partner

If you don’t have experience starting or running a peer support group, it can help to work with an organization that has done this before. These organizations can provide valuable support and resources that help ensure your group is successful.

A good organizational partner is one that:

  • Wants to improve community health.
  • Supports people with disabilities.
  • Works in stroke prevention or recovery (like March of Dimes Canada or Heart & Stroke).
  • Has experience starting community groups.
