If Challenges Cannot Be Resolved

If Challenges Cannot Be Resolved

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, certain problems can affect the group and may not be fixable. When you’ve tried different solutions and nothing seems to work, it might be time to consider ending the program. This decision should be made carefully.

Challenges that might make you consider ending the program:

  • If only a few people are coming to the meetings and new members aren’t joining, it could be a sign of deeper issues that may be hard to address.
  • If there are not enough trained or dedicated team members to run the group effectively, it can be challenging to keep the group going smoothly.

If you do decide to close the group:

  • Let all the members know about the decision. Be clear and compassionate in your communication.
  • Share information about other support groups or resources they can join.

Remember: Ending a program can be tough, but sometimes it’s the best choice, just do your best to help members find alternative ways to get support.
